Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween to those of you who celebrate this day with Trick and Treating and Halloween Parties! Happy Friday to the rest!

For those of you hitting the Halloween parties or taking little ones trick or treating, remember to be safe! Please do not send your children out trick or treating alone. If you celebrate this occasion, it is a great time to do something together as a family anyways.

For those of you hitting the parties, be careful driving, there are a lot of kids out running the streets. Often times Halloween parties also bring with them alcoholic drinks, so make sure to use common sense. Do not drink and drive!

Today’s blog is just a fun blog, my own little contribution to the Halloween occasion. Do you call Halloween a holiday, event, or an occasion? Which one is politically correct?

No matter, it is not the direction I intended this blog to be. What I intend on sharing with you all is Halloween parties! How many of you have attended a work related Halloween Party? Was it a costume affair? If so, how many of you struggled on picking out the right costume to wear and what criteria did you use to choose it? Did you worry about things such as: “Will my costume be appropriate, offend anyone, be politically correct (especially if you work a State or City job), too sexy, etc”. I know I did for years! Now I don’t care as much as I used to. I dress for comfort and for my style, what feels right for ME! But like I said, it wasn’t always like that. I used to be one of those that worried about things like that and how it would reflect on me as a person and even more so as a worker for the company I was with. I worried that if what I wore to Halloween parties would jeopardize my job!

Once I came to realize that I was a true asset to the company I worked for, those fears diminished. As long as my work was quality and done with integrity I felt secure, and I was right. I could wear just about anything and get by with it, to Halloween parties that is! I started to wear some pretty bizarre costumes after that and had a great time confusing co-workers of who was under the disguise. So tell me, do you or did you have fears when dressing up for costumed theme Halloween Parties for work? Were you ever apprehensive when choosing one? What was the craziest costume you ever sported and what were the reactions you got? What is one costume you wish you were brave enough to wear but never have!

I hope everyone has a wonderful night tonight, no matter what you are doing and that you have a great weekend as well!

  1. I have fond memories of Halloween as a youngster. I never had a store bought costume but every year went as a different character. We used our pillow cases to hold our candy and ran from house to house to gather as much as we could. Then my brother and sister and I went back home to start trading the candy we may not have liked. We shared our stash with the adults and older siblings too. They are great memories I'll have forever.
