Is everybody gearing up for Thanksgiving? Are you getting the belly ready to be overstuffed? Well I know I am. I am guilty of over indulging every year during the holidays and spending the entire next year trying to work it off just so I can do it again. And you know what? I wouldn’t have it any other way.
There are so many things to be thankful for in our lives and one of those things is being able to sit down and reflect on those things we are thankful for with family or friends over a holiday feast. However, at the same time those who do not have the ability to or are unable to enjoy in the same pleasures saddens my heart.
I wish for everyone to be as blessed as I. Being blessed doesn’t mean you have to have great wealth, a fancy car, or a high pollutant job. Yes, those things are nice, but what is more important than all of that is having a true sense of who you are and feeling good about that, having close family and friends, and being genuinely happy. All the money in the world can’t buy that and if you were to fall upon a windfall of money, if you are not genuinely happy it is just money. It cannot change your heart, although many think it can. So, this coming Thanksgiving think about all the things that you are thankful for, not just materialist items, but heart-felt things, things that money cannot buy. Feel free to share those things that make your heart sing.

A true sense of self is the best blessing anyone could hope for. After that, it all falls into place. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.
ReplyDeleteMost people have to live a lot of years before they realize that what you have does not make you who you are.
ReplyDeleteToo often people think they are what they have in the way of material things. They are so wrong.
ReplyDeleteAnother Monday, another day on this earth, another opportunity to do the right things for myself and others.
ReplyDeleteEvery day should be a Thankful one. We in this country are so richly blessed. Even those who think they don't have enough, usually have more than enough.
