When I'm out digging on the web today it seems like everybody's hopping on the webinar train. Podcasts are digital media rare taking the place of some good old fashioned leg work. The thing is, the more I look into these webcast opportunities the more I'm beginning to realize that these guys really aren't leaving anything out after all-and there are a lot of things you can do with a webcast that you could never do with a sit-down seminar.
For starters, when you're hosting a seminar you can be fairly certain that you're working with a local population. Yes, there are some seminars that people fly in from all over the world for (just talk to the AMA!) but for the most part you're going to be restricted to who can make it there on time and cost effectively. With businesses cutting way, way down on their business trips that's not as easy as it sounds!
With a webinar you can attract people from all over the world, and because you have the option to record your seminar the people who couldn't make it to the actual performance can catch the encore later on. It's amazing. And webinars still open the door to live chat, real time e-mail and a host of other features that make them nearly as effective as a regular seminar.
Having a hard time getting people to your seminars? Put them out on the web!
